Living Legends reunion will honor class of 1950

Boardman High School Class of 1950 will mark its 60th anniversary this year with a reunion the weekend of July 16-18.

The theme of the event will be “The Living Legends Reunion,” which refers to all 86 living class members who were located and contacted.

The activities will begin July 16 with a 6 p.m. gathering at Rusty’s Southside Grill, in Boardman.

On July 17, a champagne brunch will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Youngstown Club in downtown Youngstown. Some classmates will visit the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor around 12:45 p.m., followed by a visit to the Butler Institute of American Art at around 2:15 p.m.

That evening, a five-course Italian dinner will be served in the Mama Q private dining room at Caff Capri, on Market Street in Boardman. Pre-dinner activities will begin at 6:30 p.m.

In 1949, the young seniors elected four class officers, who are still actively serving. Ron Royal, president, of Sarasota, Fla.; Dick Hershberger, vice president, of Oklahoma City, Okla,; Donna Harpold Green, secretary, of Austin, Texas; and Lucille LaMarca Antonelli, treasurer, of Saratoga, Calif., will attend the reunion along with more than 40 other classmates and spouses.
