Shots fired into Youngstown home

YOUNGSTOWN

Numerous shots were fired at and into an East Florida Avenue house, but police say the people living there don’t want to cooperate with officers.

Police responded to a report of gunfire about 2:10 a.m. Friday at a house on the 900 block of East Florida Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found 16 spent shell casings in front of the home with several bullet holes in the front window and siding, according to a police report.

Police said they were allowed inside and found 10 bullet holes in the house’s foyer, living room and a bedroom.

Also, police said they found an unloaded gun in the house. No one inside the house said they had seen the gun, police said.

When officers went outside to further investigate, those living inside the house locked them out, police said.

Officers asked to be let back in to get the names of the victims and statements from them, police said. Officers were told to leave and get a warrant, police said.
