Puerto Rico Birth Certificates

All Puerto Rico birth certificates will be invalidated July 1. Here’s how to get a new birth certificate:

Online: You can apply for a new Puerto Rico birth certificate online at www.pr.gov or www.prfaa.com/birthcertificates/

Locally: Spanish Evangelical Church, 2530 South Ave., 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and June 30

Organizacion Civica y Cultural Hispana Americana, 3660 Shirley Road , 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday

What to bring:

1. Photo identification

2. Two business envelopes

3. Two stamps

4. $5 in check or money order (Note: You should not pay more than $5 for a new birth certificate in person or online. Veterans and people 60 and older do not have to pay.)

5. Old birth certificate
