Public hearing Monday on stormwater plan

NEW CASTLE, Pa.

Lawrence County Commissioners will have a public hearing at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday on a proposed County Stormwater Management Plan.

State law requires counties and local municipalities to adopt a plan to manage stormwater.

The county hired L.R. Kimball and Associates of Coraopolis to assess runoff conditions and watersheds and help develop a stormwater management plan.

Kimball’s maps identify areas of increased stormwater volume and poor drainage.

Most are located in North Beaver, Taylor and New Beaver townships and Ellwood City.

Lawrence County watersheds include Beaver and Shenango rivers, Big Run, and Connoquenessing, Little Beaver, Slippery Rock, Little Neshannock, Neshannock and Wolf creeks.
