Dave Sugar edges Livi Steel

To keep pace with 1080 Media, Dave Sugar scored twice in the second inning to hold off Livi Steel, 4-3, in Class B League action Friday.

Scott McBride’s two-out single tallied Dane Gecina and John Korpon. Livi struck back when Steve Wilaj knocked in Ralph Testa.

In the fifth, Ben Murray’s single scored Cody Herald for a 3-1 Sugar lead.

Rondinelli 5, Astro 3

A four-run fourth carried Rondinelli (7-5), beginning when Jake Double scored on Zack Stein’s double. Stein came home when Nick Ciancei doubled.

Trailing 4-2, the Astros (8-4) failed to score in the fourth with the bases loaded. In the seventh, Ciancei tripled and scored on a passed ball.

Rondinelli 12, Yo. Express 1

Zack Stein’s walk-off hit in the seventh lifted Rondinelli on Thursday. Nathan Junk had two hits, while Cory Angelo and Jake Double each had two RBIs. For Express Jon Wilsusan, Sean Mancino and Mark Calautti each had two hits.

Astro 11, Action 5

Keyed by a Gerrad Rohan triple, Astro scored six runs in the third inning to take a 8-1 lead. Jake Stahl, Rohan and John Beatty each had multiple hits in the win. Cody Kirk had two hits for Action.

Class AA

YOUNGSTOWN

Roth Brothers scored all of its runs in the final two innings, and John Stanko had Yanek Chiropractic’s lone hit — a single — during the fifth inning of Roth Brothers’ 5-0 win in Class AA League action.

For Roth, Ty Robinson had two hits, while Rob Tamburro knocked in two runs with a single in the seventh.

Roth Bros. 7, Hickory 1

Ray Jaminet had two singles, including a hit which knocked in two runs in Roth’s four-run second inning.

Tom Clayton’s triple was one of eight hits for Roth.

ROTH BROS. 12, YANEK CHIROPRACTIC 0

Chuck Schiffauer threw a five-inning no-hitter with no walks and nine strikeouts. Roth had one error. Josh Conkey homered and Mike Sikorski doubled in the victory.

ROTH BROS. 10, ANDOVER 0

Josh Tedesco pitched a five-inning no-hitter with five strikeouts and a walk for Roth. Rob Tamburro had two hits for Roth, which got hits from eight players in the lineup.
