A 7-year-old girl was shot Saturday afternoon at a gas station on the city’s North Side, police said.

The girl was shot in the legs, but is in stable condition, police said Saturday night.

The shooting happened at 4:45 p.m. at Logan Gas Mart at Logan and Saranac avenues, police said.

Police were not releasing the girl’s name, where she is from or any other details on the shooting. They said charges are pending, and they have two or three suspects.

An employee at the store, Butch Wilcox Sr., said he witnessed the shooting.

Wilcox said the little girl was with four men who pulled up to the store. They parked alongside the building.

The men got out of the car, but the child did not, Wilcox said.

He said a tan car with possibly four men in it slowed down on Saranac Avenue and shot at the men in the parking lot. They scattered.

Wilcox said he hid behind a car. When the shooting was over, he said, he could hear the girl screaming and saying she’d been shot.

He said he told people in the store to call police and an ambulance.
