Tickets go on sale today for the Aug. 22 concert featuring Trace Adkins and James Otto in the “American Ride Tour” at First Niagara Pavilion, formerly the Post Gazette Pavilion at Star Lake.

Snowball day coming to Carnegie

PITTSBURGH

Carnegie Science Center is kicking off summer with Snowball Day on Monday. Visitors who bring a preserved snowball from this past winter will be able to choose what they pay for general admission on that day.

In addition to naming their own price, every person who brings a snowball will be able to launch his or her snowball into the Ohio River from aboard the USS Requin submarine (weather permitting).

Normal parking rates apply, and Omnimax movies and laser show prices are not included in the offer.

Party hits

BURBANK, Calif.

Disney Interactive Studios recently announced “Disney Sing It: Party Hits,” the latest title in the company’s popular video-based karaoke series.

The game is expected to be available this summer for the Wii and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment systems.

Living up to its name, “Disney Sing It: Party Hits” is packed with current chart-busting party-starting anthems from the biggest names in pop music.

“The Disney Sing It franchise built its immense following by consistently providing the songs teens and tweens want to sing, and Disney Sing It: Party Hits continues that trend,” said Craig Relyea, senior vice president of global marketing, Disney Interactive Studios. “With the addition of Demi Lovato as an in-game vocal coach, fans will also get the real-world benefit of improving their skills by learning proper vocal training from a pro.”

Heroes weekend

Cedar Point will honor public-safety personnel and members of the Armed Forces and their families with a savings of nearly $14 on admission tickets during American Heroes Weekend, today through Sunday.

Today, the amusement park will also serve an all-you can-eat picnic barbecue for dads and guests of all ages.

For American Heroes Weekend, public safety personnel and members of the Armed Forces, along with their family members, can purchase a regular one-day ticket to the park for $32.

A valid ID must be presented at the time of purchase.
