AJM program to announce changes

MOBILE, ALA.

The oldest, largest scholarship program for high school girls, America’s Junior Miss, will announce a name change and other updates at the AJM National Finals June 24-26 in Mobile.

Michelle Rodgers of Kentucky, America’s Junior Miss 2009, supports the changes. She agrees that AJM requires much explanation about what it is — a program that rewards scholarship, leadership and talent— and what it is not — a beauty pageant.

Rogers said: “Such an exceptional and rewarding program shouldn’t have a name that it’s fighting against. It should have a name that aids and enhances its meaning.”
