Junior golfers excel at Mill Creek event

The Northern Ohio PGA Junior Golf event at Mill Creek Park June 5 had many young competitors from around the area showcasing their golf skills. The event was part of the Kenny Novak Tour.

Maria Mancini from Poland came in first place in the 16 to 19 age group with a score of 36. Other top 10 finishers in the girls 16 to 19 age group included Whitney Graff of Canfield, who took second place with a score of 37.

Allison Mitzel and Angela Mollaski of Poland tied for third with scores of 38. Jessica Kinnick and Amanda Orr tied for 10th place with scores of 43.

Christina Cooper of Canfield came in sixth in the girls 13 to 15 age group with a score of 50. Michele Whiteleather, Canfield, earned seventh place with a score of 56 and Olivia Demartino, also of Canfield, placed eighth with a score of 59. Rachel Jeswald of Boardman took ninth place with a score of 64.

Boardman’s Jake Fait tied for fifth place in the boys 16 to 19 age group with a score of 76. Joey Shushok of Canfield tied for third with a score of 41 in the 12 year-old age group.
