Fourth-graders at Hilltop Elementary School and CH Campbell School had the opportunity to come together June 4 and mingle before they merge at Canfield Village Middle School in the fall.

The classes met at Canfield High School on the football field for a field day and picnic.

The fourth-grade classes at Hilltop were assigned a certain color of shirt to wear and each class at CH Campbell was also assigned a color to wear. When they got to the field, the students with the same color shirts from each school were placed together for the day.

After the classes had met, they walked around the track to music to start the field day. They then all filed into the band stand and had a class photo taken.

The students had 10 stations of fun and games to participate in together, including jump rope, a bounce around, Frisbee throw, long jump, beach ball volleyball, hula hoop contests and ring toss.

The students were given popsicles and bottles of water to keep them cool.

The PTO from both schools provided the students lunch, which included pizza, wings, cupcakes and cookies. PTO parent volunteers were also on hand to help the students at each station.
