Cleveland boosters say they were pleasantly surprised the city got some positive treatment from a new TV show called “Hot in Cleveland,” which debuted Wednesday on TV Land.
Some feared the city sometimes belittled as “the mistake on the lake” would be ridiculed on the show starring sitcom veterans including Valerie Bertinelli and Betty White.
But marketing vice president Tamera Brown with the tourism promotion agency Positively Cleveland says it portrays Cleveland in “a pretty positive light.”
The show focuses on three women past their prime who move from Los Angeles to Cleveland to start over.
