Boardman grad earns Juris Doctorate

Neighbors | Submitted.Ashley Senary of Boardman was sworn in as a member of the Wisconsin State Bar Monday..Senary received her Juris Doctorate summa cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Boardman resident Ashley Senary received her Juris Doctorate summa cum laude from the University of Wisconsin Law School in Madison, Wis. Senary is a 2003 graduate of Boardman High School.

While at Wisconsin Law, Senary was an executive board member of the Moot Court Board, where she was named Outstanding Oralist at the Cardozo University Law School’s annual BMI Entertainment Law competition.

She wrote for The Journal of Gender, Law and Society and performed clinical work for the Frank J. Remington Center’s Family Law Project, a civil litigation clinic providing legal assistance to persons incarcerated in Wisconsin state and federal prisons.

She also holds a M.A. in political theory and a B.A. in political science and women’s studies from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.

She has accepted a position as an associate at the International Law Firm of Fulbright and Jaworski, LLP, in San Antonio, to begin in 2011. Her practice will focus on civil litigation and corporate bankruptcy.

Senary was sworn in as a member of the Wisconsin State Bar June 14. Wisconsin remains the only state to retain “Diploma Privilege,” which allows Wisconsin graduates to seek admission to the state bar upon completion of a specified curriculum, without having to sit for the bar examination.

Senary is the daughter of Jim and Debbie Senary of Boardman and the granddaughter of Frank Senary of Boardman and Mary Loro of Niles.
