A man shot in the leg Thursday afternoon has become the city’s latest homicide victim.

The identity of the 28-year-old man hasn’t been released, pending notification of family.

Police were called about 4:30 p.m. to a house in the 300 block of West Chalmers Avenue for a shooting.

They found the victim in an upstairs bedroom with two gunshot wounds to the leg and a cut under his eye. The man, who didn’t live at the West Chalmers home, told police that he didn’t know who shot him.

He was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center, where he later died.

Another man at the house told police that he let two men into the house, and one held him at gunpoint. After both intruders went upstairs, the man heard gunshots, he told police.
