West Side shooting case bound over to grand jury
YOUNGSTOWN — A man charged with the attempted murder of a 17-year-old boy and with being a felon with a gun has waived his preliminary hearing in municipal court and been bound over to the Mahoning County grand jury.
After appearing today before Judge Robert P. Milich of Youngstown Municipal Court, the suspect, Richard Rice, 42, of North Lakeview Avenue on the city's West Side, remains jailed under $600,000 bond.
Rice is charged with shooting and critically wounding Jevan Fitzgerald, of South Main Street, in front of 46 N. Lakeview, after a June 8 argument.
