THURSDAY

St. Michael Orthodox Church, 125 Steel St., Youngstown, will serve a homemade Chinese lunch and supper from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Thursday. This week’s meal will feature five-spice beef. The cost is $5. To order in advance call 330-799-8133 on Thursday.

FRIDAY

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

St. Anthony Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, will be selling pizza and other Italian treats. Orders may be placed by calling 330-746-9577 from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 1 p.m.

SATURDAY

Christ Lutheran Church, 250 Sexton St., Struthers, will have a strawberry festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a bake sale, jams, jellies and strawberry shortcake.

East Palestine Rotary Club Rotary Roadrunners will have a pasta dinner from noon to 6 p.m. at First United Presbyterian Church, 109 W. Rebecca St., East Palestine. There will be a selection of pastas and homemade sauces, meats, salad, bread, dessert and beverage. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children. Patrons are asked to furnish containers for carryouts.

Robbins United Methodist Church, 100 High St., Washingtonville, will have an annual strawberry festival from 4 to 6 p.m. Also available will be hot turkey sandwiches, sloppy Joes, plain or Coney Island hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, and coffee, punch or iced tea. Deerfield American Legion Post 713, 1517 state Route 14, will serve a breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at the post home. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children, and the menu consists of pancakes, sausage, eggs, sausage gravy over biscuits and a beverage. Proceeds will benefit the American Legion scholarship fund.

SUNDAY

Auxiliary of VFW Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve Father’s Day breakfasts of eggs, sausage or ham, hash browns, pancakes, freedom toast, toast, and coffee or tea from 8 a.m. to noon. Meals are $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

Capt. Charles M. Marino Post 3, Italian-American War Veterans, 113 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown, will serve spaghetti dinners from noon to 5 p.m. The cost is $6 for adults and $3.50 for children 6 to 10. Those 5 and under may eat for free. Carryouts also will be available; containers can be purchased, or patrons may provide their own. A special gift drawing will take place for all the dads attending. Each dad will receive an entry ticket for the drawing.

Woodworth Church of the Brethren, 30 E. Western Reserve Road, Poland, will sell takeout dinners of meatloaf, scalloped potatoes, green beans and a cookie from 4 p.m. until sold out. The cost is $6. Just drive to the back door and place an order. For more information call 330-501-2104.

TAKING ORDERS

Happy Hearts Junior Croatian Tamburitzans is having a summer strudel sale. Strudels are made of hand-pulled dough by the parents organization and are sold uncooked and frozen, ready to bake. Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, is taking orders for stuffed cabbage. Cost is $12 per dozen and $6 per half dozen. Call 330-755-6340 to preorder; pickup is Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Proceeds will benefit building renovations in preparation for the church’s 100th anniversary celebration in 2011.

East High Alumni will have a fish fry from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 9 at 57 Saranac Ave. Pick up meals anytime during those hours.

Sons of the American Legion, Mahoning Valley Squadron 15, will have a chicken dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. June 25 at the post home, 35 Cortland St., Poland. Meals include a half chicken, two sides and bread for $8. Takeouts are available. Tickets may be purchased at the door or by calling 330-757-8722.
