Catholic Collegiate installs officers, awards scholarships

In keeping with its goal of furthering an interest in Catholic education, Catholic Collegiate presented two scholarships at its final meeting of the season. YOUNGSTOWN

The Catholic Collegiate Association concluded its 2009-2010 season by awarding two scholarships and installing officers during a brunch at the Youngstown Country Club.

Scholarship awards went to Jenna Hallapy and Courtney Porter.

Installed as officers of the organization were Terry Gallagher, president; Barbara Banks, first vice president; Anita Stotherd, second vice president; Antonia Douglass, treasurer; and Cathy Campana, secretary.

Catholic Collegiate is an organization for Catholic women with degrees. Its aim is to further the interest in Catholic education, promote friendly relations between Catholic and non-Catholic groups, aid the present Catholic welfare societies and to develop a spirit of friendliness within the group.

A speaker will be featured at the group’s next dinner meeting in the fall.
