Movies, concerts set in McDonald Woodland Park

McDonald Woodland Park summer program schedule will again include the annual Movies in the Park on Tuesday nights and the McDonald Concert Series at the Ramsey Memorial Pavilion on Thursdays.

Movies start about 8:45 p.m., and the concert series is from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Park crafts will take place at noon every Friday, rain or shine.

The park pool will open, weather permitting, at noon on weekdays.

“Story Times in the Gazebo” are scheduled for Mondays at noon until July 19. “Grandparent’s Day” will be at noon Friday. Grandparents are welcome to join their grandchildren for fun activities.

The annual “Bike Rodeo” will be Saturday. The village police will give bicycle- safety information, and refreshments, prizes and games are planned. Call the park director for the time.

“Tie-Dye Day” will be from 1 to 4 p.m. June 29 in the Woodland Park Pavilion.

Bring one item with you that you would like to tie-dye including shirts, shorts and socks.

“Safety Day” has been scheduled for July 16, with the time to be announced. Village police, paramedics and firefighters will conduct sessions.

Prizes and candy will be given away to participants.

“Beach Day” is scheduled for July 23 and will include sprinklers, the pool, beach balls and sand-castle supplies, Frisbee games, lemonade and sand art.

“Green Up-Cleaup Day” will be at noon July 30. Events will include recycling, planting, weeding and litter control.

“Ice Cream Sundae Day” will be from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 6 in the Woodland Park Pavilion. Participants can create their own sundae.

The Park Movie Schedule is as follows: today, “Up”; June 22, “Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs”; July 6, “The Little Mermaid”; July 13, “Coraline”; and July 20, “E.T.” Movies for July 27, Aug. 3 and 10 will be announced later.
