Priest carjacked in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN — The Rev. Kenneth Miller of St. Luke Church in Boardman told police that his vehicle was taken at gunpoint. Father Miller’s wallet and keys also were reported stolen.

Father Miller, 63, said that after leaving a restaurant downtown at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, he noticed a vehicle on the side of the road at Market Street and Kenmore Avenue on the city's South Side.

Father Miller told police a man in his mid-20s and a male teen, about 14, waved him down and called for help.

The priest said he pulled up next to the vehicle, and the teen pulled out a gun and ordered Father Miller to pull off Market.

The priest said he complied, and the men ordered him to get out of the vehicle and demanded his wallet. The teen then got in Father Miller’s car and both vehicles left the scene.
