Officers elected by Kiwanis club

GIRARD

The Kiwanis Club of Western Mahoning County elected officers for the 2010-11 season during a recent meeting.

Beginning their terms Oct. 1 will be Barbara Smith of Girard, president; Wally Sinn of Canfield, president-elect; Glenn Sedgwick of Canfield, vice president; David Little of Canfield, treasurer; and Bob Thomas of Poland, secretary.

Smith will be a voting delegate at the 95th annual Kiwanis International Convention June 24-27 in Las Vegas.

Announced at the event will be a worldwide service project. The last global endeavor was working with UNICEF to eliminate iodine deficiency disorders.

At the June 9 meeting, Jessica Ricker of Austintown spoke about Circle K and the services it provides.
