SENIOR CITIZENS | Meetings, activities announced


55-Plus Club of Mineral Ridge will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Church. After the meeting and card games, members will dine out.

AARP 4611 will have an executive board meeting at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Augustine Church, Parmelee Avenue, followed by a regular meeting at noon. Members are to take school supplies. A church to attend in October will be selected. There will be a 50-50 raffle, and April, May and June birthdays will be celebrated. There are a few seats left for the trip to Cleveland. Campbell Memorial High School January and June Classes of 1947 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Denny’s in Boardman. All classmates and spouses are welcome.

Keenagers of Third Baptist Church will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. On the agenda is discussion of a trip in September. A deposit of $50 must be made at this time. After the meeting members will go by van to the Golden Corral for lunch, and final plans for the September trip will be given.

Liberty 55-Plus Club will have its monthly meeting at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Assembly Church, Cardinal Drive, Liberty. Kay Herberger will preside, and Dolly Rebraca and Betty Sferra will serve as hostesses. There will be a 50-50 raffle and discussion of next month’s trip to the Arms Museum and lunch afterward at MVR Restaurant.

Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Douglas Martin will give the devotions. Members are reminded to take a sack lunch; coffee and tea will be provided. OBES Retirees will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Friendly’s restaurant on Route 224 in Poland. Lunch will follow the meeting. All OBES retirees are welcome.

S.O.A.R. 1-28-10, U.S.W.A. Copperweld Steel, will have a meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Local 1375 Union Hall at 684 N. Park Ave., Warren. The guest speaker will be James Young of the American Legion.

St. Brendan Seniors will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Maxwell Hall with Dorothy LoSasso presiding. Reports will be given by Ann Banyots and Dorothy Proceck. The lunch will cost $1, and there will be a 50-50 raffle. Illnesses or deaths should be reported to Theresa Vivacqua, 330-793-2792.

Sears Friendship Club will meet at noon Monday at Johnny’s in Boardman.
