Authors to speak
WARREN
Authors Erin McCarthy and Rhonda Stapleton will speak at 2 p.m. Saturday at Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Avenue NW. The program is free and open to the public.
McCarthy has written 35 books in the contemporary romance, paranormal, and young-adult genres, including the “Vegas Vampires” series. The newest book in her “Seven Deadly Sins” series, “The Taking,” was published in January.
Stapleton is the author of a teen romantic comedy trilogy, “Stupid Cupid,” which includes “Stupid Cupid,” “Flirting With Disaster” and “Pucker Up.”
The authors, both from Northeast Ohio, will talk about their books and writing process.
GOP chairman
LISBON
David W. Johnson, the chairman of the newly constituted Columbiana County Republican Central Committee, has been re-elected as the county party chairman.
Adam Booth was elected vice chairman, Susan Johnston was elected secretary, and Jennifer Arnold was elected treasurer.
Johnson has served as GOP chairman for a total of 16 years, during which he has also served as a member of the county board of elections.
He also is the 30th District Republican State Committeeman, which covers a five-county region. He has had that position since 1996.
Booth first was elected to his party post in 2007. He also serves as the director of the county elections board.
