New pastors will lead St. Rose Church

Monsignor John A. Zuraw has been appointed pastor of St. Rose Church, 48 E. Main St., effective July 5, and the Rev. John Trimbur, associate pastor, effective July 1.
Monsignor Zuraw currently serves as vicar for administration in the Diocese of Youngstown, pastor of Immaculate Conception Church in Youngstown and director of the Permanent Diaconate Program.
Monsignor Zuraw was ordained June 20, 1987, after completing seminary studies at Mount St. Mary Seminary in Cincinnati.
In 1997, he was named Chaplain of His Holiness with the title Monsignor by Pope John Paul II.
He earned a licentiate in Canon Law from Catholic University of America in 1999 and serves as promoter of justice, judge and defender of the bond for the Diocesan Tribunal.
Monsignor Zuraw previously served as associate pastor of St. Louis Church in Louisville and St. Rose. He was a member of the Diocesan Board of Religious Education, spiritual director at the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, and faculty member in Canon Law at Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio.
He also served as executive director of clergy services, vocation director and was a member of the Diocesan Priests’ Council, the College of Consultors and the Priests’ Personnel Board.
As vicar for administration, Monsignor Zuraw headed the diocesan plan for parish reorganization.
Father Trimbur studied at St. Thomas Seminary in Denver, Colo., and was ordained May 25, 1974, for the Archdiocese of Denver. He transferred to the Diocese of Youngstown in 1978, and served as associate pastor at St. James Church in Warren, St. Joan of Arc Church in Canton and St. Joseph Church and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, both Austintown.
He served as pastor at St. Joseph Church in Mantua; St. John the Baptist Church and St. Lucy Parish, both in Campbell; Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles; St. Joseph and St. Stephen of Hungary Church.
Father Trimbur was a member of the Diocesan Board of Religious Education, and currently serves on the Diocesan Cemetery Board and as chaplain to St. Elizabeth Hospital, Boardman campus.
