St. Luke students win Archie Griffin sportsmanship awards

Two athletes have been rewarded for being good sports.
St. Luke School eighth-grade students Justin Fotiuk and Madison Evans were presented with the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s prestigious Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award at a banquet May 25 at St. Luke Hall.
The award is named for two-time Heisman Trophy winner Archie Griffin and is presented to a male and female student who have been outstanding in their efforts to promote sportsmanship in their school and community.
Fotiuk was a member of the school’s basketball team, participated in the Ohio Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl, English Festival at YSU and was consistently on the honor roll.
Evans was the Spelling Bee champion, played soccer, basketball, track and was on the high honor roll each quarter. She is often a reader at mass, a member of the choir and participated in the Ohio Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl and YSU English Festival.
