Rewarded for granting wishes

Poland North Elementary School students were surprised and rewarded for their fundraising.
Make-A-Wish Foundation’s Ashley Korbas made a surprise visit to Poland North and presented students with this year’s Students for Wish Kids’ trophy for raising the most money of any school in the Greater Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The Student for Wish Kids program offers students of all ages the opportunity to assist in granting the wishes of children in their own community. Students develop ideas for fundraising and then manage the projects with guidance from their teachers and the Make-A-Wish Foundation representative.
This year, Poland North Elementary School was able to grant the wishes of two local children. Over the past few years, the school has granted four local children wishes by raising more than $23,000.
The honor is shared with the local businesses, organizations, families, friends and neighbors who contributed to North’s efforts.
