A Hubbard Township man faces multiple drug charges that township police said stem from an indoor marijuana-growing operation at his home.
George J. Huston, 35, of 5885 Mount Everett Road, is charged with two counts of domestic violence, cultivation of marijuana, criminal tools and drug paraphernalia.
Huston has previous convictions for drug trafficking, having weapons under disability and unlawful transaction of a firearm.
Huston was granted a judicial release from prison on or about Oct. 20, 2008, police said.
On June 8, officers responded to the Mount Everett residence on a domestic-violence call. They discovered “a sophisticated growing operation” in the basement of the residence.
The growing operation used a hydroponics system, which involves growing plants to increase levels of THC, the chemical compound that gives marijuana users a high, police said. The system involved grow lights in a ventilated room inside the downstairs bedroom area.
Huston is in Trumbull County Jail with bond set at $50,000.
