Oakhill was a good deal for the county from the beginning

I’m writing this letter about the Oakhill Renaissance Place. I thought back in the beginning and still do think that buying the old Southside Hospital was a good idea. I knew in the beginning it would be rough financially and take time to get different departments that were related so as to become a one stop place. The county would own it instead of renting from the Cafaros. At one time, the city and county rented many of the Cafaros’ buildings, with the Cafaros coming out on top instead of the people who pay the taxes,

I give a lot of credit to everyone involved in wanting to own instead of renting from the Cafaros, especially to commissioners Traficanti and Ludt. They stood their ground and for the first time some people said no to the Cafaros. I think that they are used to getting what they want when they want it. Who would dare tell the Cafaros no? I feel that McNally, Sciortino, Reardon and others have to stick to their same old stories, otherwise the Cafaros would be in big trouble. Personally I feel that each of the three persons who were with Anthony Cafaro in his office the day the commissioners took over the Oakhill Place should go to jail. They sold their souls for contributions to their elections.

I feel all this started with the original commissioners who signed that great deal with Cafaros on Garland Street. Who wouldn’t want that deal, especially with the taxpayers money. Plus all the other deals that were made back then. All we ever hear about is Jim Traficant but no one else.

Cal Thomas column said it all

Cal Thomas’ article address- ing the graduates of 2010 on May 21 was great.

It is my wish that all young people could read it and heed his advice. His article included all the basic rules for living a long and productive life: truth, making the right choices in marriage, spending money wisely, hence living within your means, being charitable and kind to others and having faith in God.
