Hess wins E-Mods at Sharon

Tuesday night at Sharon Speedway brought together All Star Late Models and Tri-State Modified Association.
The evening also brought out NASCAR drivers Dave Blaney, Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace, who raced in the 25-lap, 25-car Tri-State Modified Feature.
Brent Rhebergen of Klymer, N.Y., held onto the lead for the first few laps of E-Mod racing, but Dave Hess Jr. of Waterford, Pa., moved up from a 10th place starting position to win the race.
Michael Richard moved up from 11th to finish second, holding off Schrader, who finished third. Rhebergen finished fourth, and Randy Hall rounded out the top five.
Blaney finished sixth and Wallace was eighth.
There were 24 cars in the 40-lap Late Models A-Main feature, won by Boom Briggs of Bear Lakes, Pa., with Robbie Blair of Titusville, Pa., finishing second. Doug Horton, Dave Hess Jr. and Gregg Satterlee round out the top five.
Racing returns Saturday night with 410 Sprints, Big Block Modifieds, E-mods, Pro Stocks, Limited Sprints and Hobby Stocks. Racing begins at 6 p.m. and tickets are $13 for adults, with a family pass available for $32 that provides admission for two adults and up to four children. The Trumbull County School Night scheduled for June 5 has been rescheduled for this weekend.
Mercer Raceway Park
Mercer, Pa.
Racing returns to Mercer Raceway Park on Saturday night with Sprint Cars, Modifieds, Late Models, Stock Cars and Mini Stocks.
Race time is 7 p.m. Saturday’s featured promotion is $10 Family Night. Also, kids bike races will be held on the speedway during intermission for those 12 and under. Helmets are required. Signups will be held in the midway with a parent or legal guardian.
Also, balloon artist Isaac Grove will be on hand for the kids, and drivers Lindsay Enscoe, Rick Hall, Butch Lambert and Earl Snyder will meet fans in the midway from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
