Gora’s six-hitter leads Wharmby

JW Gora tossed a six-hitter, shutting out Wharmby over the final six innings to help Roth Brothers win 4-1 in a Class B game Thursday at Cene Park.

Matt Palo and Anthony O’Nesti each had two hits for Roth Brothers. Josh Saverko (0-2) pitched a complete game but got the loss.

1080 Media 5, Astro 0

Justin Summers (2-0) tossed a three-hit shutout and 1080 scored four runs in the sixth to break the game open. Kolin Stanley (1-1) pitched a no-hitter through five innings for Astro.

Livi 12, Express 1

Tony Koch, Bill Emrick, Tyler Budsky and Steve Wilaj each had multiple hits for Livi, which got a three-hitter from Jon DeAmicis. Mark Calautti doubled twice and scored the lone run for Express, which fell behind 5-0 after one inning.

Dave Sugar 3, Rondinelli 2

Dane Gecina had two hits for Sugar on Wednesday, including a double. John Korpon, the winning pitcher, also had a double and the go-ahead RBI in the seventh. John McCormick also hit a double for the winners.

Dan Reese hit a RBI double for Rondinelli.

1080 Media 10, Action 3

James Coates’ leadoff home run triggered a four-run first inning for 1080 Media. Mike Floravit had three hits for 1080, while Jay Rowland, Coates and Joey Aulizia all had two.

Zack Palumbo had two RBIs for Action Physical Therapy.

Roth 2, Astro 1

Roth Brothers scored two runs on Max McDowell’s double in the first combined with a ground ball error. Dan Calai (1-0) allowed just one hit after the third inning to get the win.

Doug Bennett had an RBI single and Ryan Gallagher tossed a complete game five-hitter but got the loss.

Wharmby 5, Express 1

Josh Foster (2-0) pitched a three-hitter and Tyler Gentile added a double and an RBI single for Wharmby.

Tyler Blangero doubled and scored for the Express.

OTN Performance 3, Livi Steel 2

Geoff Sanner (2-0) threw five scoreless innings before running into trouble in the sixth and Nate Fader pitched well in relief to lead OTN.
