Louie B. Free of Boardman, a self-employed radio talk show host on WGFT-AM 1330 in Youngstown, will be sentenced at 2 p.m. today by U.S. Magistrate James S. Gallas on three misdemeanor counts of failing to file federal tax returns.
Free, 57, whose real name is Louis A. Wolk, is charged with failing to file for 2004, 2005 and 2006, when he earned $74,150, $46,810 and $17,945, respectively.
Each count carries up to a year in prison and up to a $100,000 fine.
Free is the host of the “Brainfood from the Heartland” program, which normally airs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Recycling day

Separated recyclables and large appliances will be accepted for recycling from 8 a.m to 3 p.m. Saturday at Jasar Recycling, 278 W. Taggart St. Proceeds will be used to purchase cameras for City Park.
Lions Street Fair
CORTLAND
This year’s Cortland Lions Street Fair begins at 6 p.m. June 24 with the Miss Cortland Queen Contest. The fair closes at midnight each night through June 26.
The Jeff Welsh Band will perform throughout the evening June 24.
June 25 events, which start at 6 p.m., include a bed race in front of the Cortland Fire Station and entertainment by the band “Burkley.”
June 26 events begin at 1 p.m., and the parade starts at 6 p.m. Elvis impersonator Danny G. performs at 8 p.m.

Super Kids Race
SALEM
The Quakertown Super Kids Race for youths with physical or mental handicaps will run from 9 a.m. to about noon Saturday in front of Salem City Hall on Broadway Avenue.
This year, 16 racers will be participating in the soapbox derby for children. Winners from the single and double divisions will go on to the National Super Kids Race in Akron on July 23-25. A third winner will be chosen at random from all eliminated racers. John Frazier, winner of the 1934 Youngstown Soap Box Derby, will start the race.

Crossroads Church is taking orders for Angel Food Blessings in a Box. The Angel Food program is intended to reduce the amount members of the community pay for groceries each month. A box of meats, vegetables, fruit and more, valued at $75, costs $30. There are no income restrictions.
