Parking at the ball fields just got a little easier.

La Farge North America of Warren donated eight truckloads of parking lot material to the Canfield Baseball Club to add significant parking at McCune Park.

The gift allowed the club to further serve all those who visit the park by offering additional vehicle parking behind Fields 6 and 7 and expanded parking behind Field 1. A walkway was added from the Field 1 parking area to the administration building and a gravel road was installed to access parking for Fields 8 and 9.

“The CBC takes great pride in making our offerings equal to all our members, as well as welcoming the general public to our club,” said club president Nick D’Alesio. “We have made great strides in improving the fields and facilities so that our youth play and learn sportsmanship in one of the best baseball and softball facilities in our area.”

The donation by La Farge makes maintaining the club grounds more streamlined for the more than 615 players who utilize 10 fields on more than 40 acres. It also makes McCune Park more handicap accessible to all visitors, which was a goal of Canfield Baseball Club donor James Centofanti. He donated money toward this access before he passed away last month.
