Ceremony to honor heroes of War on Terror

SLIPPERY ROCK, PA.

The fifth annual Western Pennsylvania Families of Fallen Heroes Foundation Memorial Honor Ceremony and Motorcycle Ride begins at 3 p.m. Saturday at Slippery Rock University.

The event honors fallen heroes of the War on Terrorism who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan and their families.

Ceremony events include a parade of bikes, bag pipes, a 21-gun salute, a Native-American honor ceremony, dove release, placing of boots at the field memorial, and reading of names of the fallen.

The ride has different starting points in Western Pennsylvania.
