Route 9 closing postposed to June 28
NEW GARDEN
The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced that the closing of state Route 9 planned for Monday north of New Garden in Columbiana County has been postponed to June 28 because of heavy rains.
The road will be closed for 14 days, while ODOT’s contractor, Bud’s Inc., of Nashport, Ohio, replaces the existing slab bridge over an unnamed tributary to Guilford Lake with a precast concrete box culvert.
The detour will begin at the intersection of state Route 9 and state Route 172.
Traffic will be detoured east on state Route 172 to U.S. 30, east to state Route 45, north back to state Route 9, and the reverse.
The cost for the project is $178,843, and the completion date is Aug. 31, 2010.
