Rotary hears speaker from seniors unit

Kay Lavelle, from the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office Senior Citizens Unit, was the guest speaker at the June 7 meeting of the Rotary Club of Austintown.

The unit improves services for seniors and helps them and their families with assistance or intervention to keep the elderly from being victimized.

The unit conducts assessments of seniors who have been victimized or are vulnerable and refers them to services in the community. The response team is available 24 hours a day. The number is 330-480-5078.
