Church members to paint Leetonia fire hydrants

LEETONIA

Gary E. Phillips, village administrator, said that 50 people from Greenford Christian Church will paint fire hydrants between 9 a.m. and noon Sunday. The event is part of a program called “Be the Church.”

There are about 150 hydrants in the village, he said.Whether the volunteers get to all the hydrants will depend in part on the weather.

The village will provide the paint, sandpaper and other items needed for the work.

Bruce Rhodes, administrator of the church, said the church does projects to share the love of Christ.

Members of the church have an early breakfast on Sundays and then work on projects.
