Federal grand jury indicts Volant, Pa., man on child-porn charges

PITTSBURGH — A federal grand jury has indicted a 37-year-old Volant, Pa., man on a charge of violating federal child-pornography laws.

The indictment, which was unsealed last week, charges Matthew Duddy with possessing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct between Nov. 28, 2009, and Jan. 21, 2010.

Duddy faces up to 10 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine if he’s convicted, the U.S. Attorney's office said.

The case was investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police under the U.S. Attorney-sponsored national program, known as Project Safe Childhood, established in 2006 to protect children from online exploitation and abuse.
