Changes made in Springfield police department

NEW SPRINGFIELD

Springfield Township trustees promoted Sgt. Ray Fellows to a vacant lieutenant position when they met Wednesday.

Fellows has served as sergeant since 2005 and has been on the police force since 1993. In his new post he will be paid $25.17 hourly. The vacant sergeant’s job will be posted.

Trustees also hired Cody Holmes of Columbiana as a part-time patrolman and awarded a bid for paving Cherry and High streets in Petersburg.
