A three-car accident injured two people in Hermitage, Pa.

The Hermitage Volunteer Fire Department had to help free one person in the accident at the intersection of East State Street, Dutch Lane and Maple Drive at 1:37 p.m. Monday.

Hermitage police said Tonya Carr, 25, of Jamestown, Pa., was driving west on East State Street when she broadsided a car driven by Mary Marley, 75, of Stewart Drive in Sharpsville, Pa., in the intersection.

Marley was driving south on Dutch Lane, police said. Her car struck a third vehicle, which was stopped and facing east on East State Street at the intersection.

That car was driven by James Kuminkoski, 62, of Masury, Ohio, who was stopped for a red light at the intersection.

Carr’s vehicle continued southwest after hitting Marley’s car and jumped a curb, police said.

Carr hurt her right leg in the accident and was taken by private vehicle to UPMC Hospital in Greenville, police said.

Marley was freed by the fire department and taken by ambulance to Sharon Regional Hospital, police said. They did not know the extent of her injuries. The hospital said Wednesday it had no record of admitting her.

Kuminoski was not injured.

Carr was cited for running a red light, police said.
