Three men were charged with two counts each of felonious assault, accused of beating up three men outside a U.S. Route 224 bar. Ryan Patterson, 30, of Struthers; Brent Cross, 33, of Columbiana; and Robert Francis, 35, of Poland, were released from the Mahoning County jail after posting $24,000 bond each.
Police were called about 1 a.m. Sunday to Salty Grog’s bar on a report that three men were being assaulted. One of the victims told police that as they were standing outside, a white truck began to back up toward them and their cars. One of the victims yelled for the truck to stop, and a group of men got out of the truck and started hitting them. The truck then backed into a vehicle of the girlfriend of one of the victims.
Francis, who was the truck driver, also was cited with operating a vehicle while impaired.
