Entertainment series sells out the season

Warren Civic Music Association’s 2010-11 season is sold out. Karl Morris, a spokesman for the WCMA, said the annual entertainment series has sold out a couple of times over the past 15 years, but never this fast. Tickets went on sale in April. The six-show series takes place at the 2,400-seat in Packard Music Hall. The 2010-11 season includes Melissa Manchester, “Forever Plaid,” The Texas Tenors, “Happy Holidays,” The King’s Brass and The Best of Broadway’s “You Raise Me Up.”
Hoyt seeks artists for annual exhibition
NEW CASTLE, Pa.
The Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts 2010 Mid-Atlantic Juried Art Exhibition has issued a call for artists. The deadline for submissions is July 23. The juror this year is Paola Morsiani, curator of contemporary art at the Cleveland Museum of Art. The exhibition offers cash awards totalling $1,200. Concert on the lawn

Cortland Community Band and Noah’s Illusions and Balloon Show will give a free performance at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Grace U.M. Church, 1725 Drexel NW. Food will be available and attendees can bring lawn chairs.
Glass Harp concert

Iyaz at water park
AURORA
Virgin Islands singer Iyaz will give a free concert at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Geauga Lake’s Wildwater Kingdom water park in support of the Klaben Teen Text Pledge. The show will be at the Tidal Wave Bay wave pool deck.
Iyaz’ first single “Replay” (2009) peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. His debut album is scheduled to be released today.
The first 965 young adults (ages 15-19) who take the Klaben Teen Text Pledge will be admitted to the park free Friday. Pledges can be downloaded at kisscleveland.com or wildwaterfun.com.
