'Alice in Wonderland' tea, garden tour set

COLUMBIANA
The Columbiana Women’s Club will sponsor an “Alice in Wonderland” tea and garden tour from noon to 4 p.m. June 18 and 19. In keeping with the theme, tables at the clubhouse on Main Street, where the formal tea will be served, and the gardens to be toured will be decorated with rare pictures of characters from the book and related items, many available for sale. There will also be a Mad Hatter accessory and jewelry sale, a Reader’s Guild book sale and an Alexander Doll raffle.
Making their gardens available to visitors are the following:
Mr. and Mrs. Craig Newbold, 347 S. state Route 14, Columbiana, estate gardens featuring waterfalls, lakes and natural settings.
Mr. and Mrs. Brad Tingle, 41234 Spring Hill Drive, off Kelly Park Road, Columbiana, formal landscapes typical of those in Europe, especially France.
Mr. and Mrs. Wally Myers, 24 N. Vine St., Columbiana, a hidden city garden one block from the city square, featuring an array of grow where you will plants and shrubs.
Mr. and Mrs. Mark Rambo, 416 Fairfield Ave., Columbiana, a garden with fish ponds and a variety of plantings.
In conjunction with the event, Town and Country Nursery 13887 Woodworth Road, New Springfield, will display a variety of mini fairy gardens of Roberta’s Gallery on the Square, and a plant and garden guide book compiled by Judi Karcher, master gardener, will be distributed at each site.
Tickets for the tea and tour are $15 and may be purchased at the Women’s Club at Roberta’s Gallery on the Square in Columbiana, at Vivian’s on Main St., Columbiana, or at each garden. For more information call 330-892-0306 or 330-482-2832.
