SHARON, Pa.

Gwen E. Shriver, daughter of the Rev. David and Janice Shriver of Hubbard, and R. Richard Brown of Hubbard, son of Roy and Judy Brown of Austintown, were united in marriage at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at Buhl Mansion Guesthouse and Spa, where a reception followed the ceremony. The bride’s father officiated.

A late 1950s-style cocktail dress of ivory nylon chiffon and ribbon-appliqued tulle was worn by the bride. It featured a fitted sleeveless bodice, a gathered waist and full skirt. She completed her ensemble with a handmade headband enhanced with silk hydrangea and a birdcage veil.

After a wedding trip to Hocking Hills, Ohio, the couple live in Hubbard.

Mrs. Brown graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology. She is employed by The Vindicator.

The groom, a test engineer with the Champion Technical Center in Champion, graduated from YSU.
