“Drop Dead Diva” (9 p.m., Lifetime): Coming off a well-received freshman season, “Drop Dead Diva” returns with Jane (Brooke Elliott) dreaming about performing a musical number with Paula Abdul. Real life, however, isn’t so fun: She’s facing disbarment.

“2010 MTV Movie Awards” (9 p.m., MTV): OK, so it isn’t the Oscars, but at least the “2010 MTV Movie Awards” features cool categories such as “best kiss” and “best villain.” Aziz Ansari (”Parks and Recreation”) hosts the offbeat gala.

River Museum opens for season

wellsville

The River Museum, 1003 Riverside Ave., will open for the season today, and will be open every Sunday from 1 to 4:30 p.m. through Aug. 29.

The museum, housed in an 1870 Victorian home, offers artifacts from more than 150 years of Wellsville’s railroad, riverboat and pottery heritage.

Programs for this season will be WWII living history, Saturday and next Sunday; Acme craft pottery, July 11; and history of the fire department, Aug. 15. All programs begin at 2 p.m. Tours can be arranged by calling 330-532-1018 or 330-532-3941.

Featured displays this year include Civil War General John H. Morgan’s sword and the original death mask of Pretty Boy Floyd.

The museum has 11 rooms with different themes. T
