Calhouns mark 50th anniversary at luncheon

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Calhoun of Boardman recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with family and friends at an afternoon luncheon at the Lariccia Community Center in Boardman Township Park. The event was hosted by the couple’s sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Colleen Calhoun of Erie, Pa., and Brad and Sue Calhoun of Boardman. Their family also includes four grandsons, Sean and Rayn Calhoun and Jayson and Adam Calhoun.

The former Jean Hockey and Mr. Calhoun were married May 21, 1960, at Court Street Methodist Church in Flint, Mich. They are members of St. James Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Calhoun retired in 1999 from McCarthy & Barnhart, where she was a tax preparer. She belongs to Eastern Star.

Her husband served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and retired in 1987 from General Motors Corp. in Lordstown, where he was a worker’s compensation administrator. He is a member of the American Legion.
