Bazetta Safety Day set for Saturday

The Bazetta Township Police Department and Mosquito Lake Marina will have its 8th annual Safety Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mosquito Lake Marina inside Mosquito Lake State Park.

The purpose of the event is to inform the public of the tasks and duties of various agencies, including local police, fire and state departments. Each will have representatives on hand.

Free boat rides will be provided by Mosquito State Park, and Heather Merritt from the Birds in Flight Sanctuary also will be on hand.

Bazetta police also will fingerprint children, and the Mahoning Valley Crisis Response Team tactical vehicle “Bear” will be on hand for inspection. Scrappy, mascot for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, will greet the children.
