Ohio authorities say a hazardous-materials team was called to the Statehouse after the discovery of an envelope that contained a threat and what was later determined to be baby powder.
Gregg Dodd, a spokesman for the Capitol Square Review & Advisory Board, says a person handling mail on the loading dock noticed the lumpy envelope addressed to the Ohio Senate at about 3:15 p.m. Friday after regular mail delivery. The building’s ventilation system was turned off as the Columbus fire department investigated.
