Youngstown’s M-7 Technologies and Applied Systems and Technology, a Salt Lake City company, will officially kick off their joint venture, the Ohio Clean Technologies Group, at a press conference Sunday at 4 p.m. in the lobby of Moser Hall.
The collaborative project will help “green” technology companies commercialize and market their products, said co-founder Jack Scott. The group is in the process of leasing a facility at 1062 Ohio Works Dr., adjacent to the M-7 Technologies site. Scott and co-founder Michael Garvey will be joined at the press conference by U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Niles, D-17th, Martin Abraham, dean of YSU’s College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, and Julie Michael Smith, chief development officer at the Youngstown Business Incubator.
The idea for the Ohio Clean Technologies Group was initially developed on a trip to Israel sponsored by the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber and the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation in January. The Ohio Clean Technologies Group will sign a cooperative agreement with LN Greentech Incubator of Haifa, Israel, at the Butler Institute of American Art on Monday at 4 p.m.
