A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard, Hubbard and Liberty:
GIRARD
June 1
Domestic violence: Steven A. Lewis, 36 E. Broadway Ave., Girard, faced a felony charge after a family member alleged Lewis threw food at her, punched her left arm and struck her in the back with a broom.
Theft: A Prospect Street girl reported her $200 cell phone missing.
Criminal mischief: Someone tossed a coin and caused $50 in damage to a window screen at a Crumlin Avenue residence.
June 2
Theft: A woman’s wallet was stolen from her home in the 500 block of Trumbull Avenue.
Theft: A wallet and personal papers were removed from a vehicle in the 100 block of East Kline Street.
Domestic violence: A charge was pending against a 15-year-old Girard boy after his sister alleged the teen had choked her.
June 3
Theft: Someone stole tools, clothing and copper fittings from a construction site in the 1200 block of Shannon Road.
Theft: Money and cigarettes were taken from a car in the 100 block of East Broadway Avenue.
HUBBARD
May 30
Assault: Police arrested a man after responding to a fight in the 200 block of East Liberty Street. The report did not indicate charges or other information about the man.
June 1
Breaking and entering: Took place at a residence in the 800 block of South Main Street.
Menacing: A West Liberty Street man reported another man threatened to shove a skateboard down his throat.
June 2
Fraud: A Wheeler Avenue man found out someone had taken money from his account without authorization.
Menacing: A man on North Main Street told authorities another man drove past and threatened him.
Counterfeit: A phony $10 bill was passed at a West Liberty Street store.
Criminal mischief: Someone in the 500 block of West Liberty Street tampered with a vehicle’s hood.
LIBERTY
May 28
Menacing: Officers charged 53-year-old Anthony L. Pruden, 3025 Hadley Ave., Youngstown, with menacing and disorderly conduct while intoxicated. An intoxicated Pruden threatened and blocked the path of several juveniles on bicycles near his driveway, a report said.
Theft: Two solar landscaping lights were removed from a home in the 4200 block of Logan Way.
Theft: A Youngstown man, 23, was detained but not charged after children’s clothing was stolen from Walmart, 200 Goldie Road.
Trespassing: Police charged Jason Sudak, 35, of 69 Westminster Ave., Austintown, with criminal trespassing after authorities responded to an unwanted person at a Kris Lane home. Sudak, who police had escorted off the property a few days earlier, refused to leave, a report said.
May 29
Theft: A Youngstown woman, 21, was detained after $36 worth of clothing was stolen from Walmart.
Theft: Walmart officials held a 20-year-old Youngstown woman accused of stealing $77 worth of swimwear.
Arrest: A traffic stop near Belmont Avenue and Interstate 80 led to charges of receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia against 39-year-old Alexander S. Henry, 461 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown. Found were a suspected crack pipe as well as a checking/debit card in another person’s name containing four unauthorized charges, police said.
May 30
Theft: A woman reported her wallet missing while at a residence in the 3900 block of Logan Way.
Arrest: Youngstown police handed Rory J. Stephenson, 131 Roslyn Drive, Youngstown, to township authorities. Stephenson was wanted on a probation-violation charge.
May 31
Drugs: Trisha A. Villagomez, 26, of 339 Mathews Road, Boardman, and 29-year-old Jeffrey A. Johnson, 2730 Utilis Ave., Youngstown, faced drug-related charges after being pulled over on state Route 193. Villagomez was wanted on a warrant; Johnson was cited on a charge of possession of marijuana.
Arrests: Charles Parisi, 50, of 111 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles, and 38-year-old William Matsouris, 3473 Meanderwood Drive, Canfield, faced charges of receiving stolen property, possession of criminal tools and theft after police responded to a shoplifting situation at Walmart. A vehicle search turned up a large quantity of merchandise thought to have been stolen in other thefts, as well as a suspected heroin kit, a report said.
Arrest: Boardman authorities handed to Liberty police 28-year-old Troy T. Keslar, 7460 Ranier Trail, Boardman, who was wanted on charges of obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia.
June 1
Assaults: A Hubbard woman and another family member at a Tibbetts Wick Road residence reported the woman’s boyfriend choked and struck them during an argument related to money. The family member suffered a bloody nose and lip.
Breaking and entering: Someone broke into a utility room at a Belmont Avenue salon, then used a ladder to enter the business. An undisclosed sum of money was missing.
Theft: Police charged Cody W. Vanhoose, 5750 Applewood Blvd., Boardman, with the theft of $136 worth of merchandise from Walmart.
Arrest: Police arrested Randy Pence, 48, of 1091 Wirt St., Youngstown, at the Mahoning County jail on a warrant from Girard Municipal Court charging him with criminal trespassing.
Arrest: William K. Lewis, 49, of 5 Louise Lane, Girard, was taken into custody on a warrant accusing him of failing to appear on a charge of driving under the influence, after being pulled over on state Route 193.
Drugs: Wayne Kerns, 20, of 2299 Volney Road, Youngstown, was cited during a traffic stop on Logan Way when, police said, a suspected marijuana cigarette was found.
Theft: A Royal Arms Drive man discovered a bag of tools, a global-positioning-system unit and a car stereo were stolen from two vehicles.
June 2
Theft: David L. Guss, 40, and Jill L. Cline, 35, both of Canton, faced several charges including theft, receiving stolen property and fleeing and eluding police after a shoplifting situation at Dollar General, 3551 Belmont Ave. The two led authorities on a pursuit in a stolen car, then fled on foot before being apprehended, a report showed.
Arrest: Officers booked 25-year-old Ama-Efura Dodson, 2816 Firnley Ave., Youngstown, at the Mahoning County jail. Dodson was wanted on a charge of failing to appear for a violation-of-probation hearing.
