May 24
Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s passenger-side window sustained $300 of damage in the 400 block of Canterbury Lane.
Theft: A metal grate was removed from a gas grill in the 7000 block of Claybourne Avenue.
Theft/damage: Someone broke a car’s passenger-side window in the 100 block of Terrace Drive before stealing a bag containing alcoholic beverages and a tote bag.
Theft: A checkbook, a driver’s license and a debit card were removed from a vehicle in the 100 block of Clifton Avenue.
Theft: Spare change was taken from a car in the 4800 block of Grover Drive.
Criminal damaging: Someone in the 700 block of Annawan Lane pried and shattered a window to a vehicle and damaged a door frame.
Theft/damage: Ten compact discs and a pair of sunglasses were missing from a car in the 4800 block of Southern Boulevard that had a shattered window.
Recovered property: A 1991 Buick was found after a Southern Boulevard man had reported it stolen.
Theft: A woman at an East Midlothian Boulevard gas station reported her wallet stolen.
Theft: An AM/FM/CD stereo and a speaker were removed from a vehicle in the 100 block of Lemans Drive.
Criminal damaging: A window was broken at an apartment in the 4000 block of Hillman Way.
Theft: A Paxton Road woman accused a family member of stealing $300 from her.
May 25
Burglary: Occurred at an apartment in the 7300 block of Salinas Trail, from which a 9 mm handgun was missing.
Attempted burglary: Police discovered damage to two rear doors after someone had tried to enter a home in the 4000 block of Hudson Drive.
May 28
Arrest: A vehicle registration check on Market Street led to the arrest of 21-year-old Teonia I. Gowdy, 962 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Youngstown, on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in court.
Fraud: A Cranberry Run Drive man reported giving someone $50 to perform yard work that was never done.
Arrest: Malena A. Pack, 4111 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, surrendered to authorities on a misdemeanor warrant charging her with falsification. She was released on a summons.
Weapon: Police responded to a man in distress at a Market Street store before charging 23-year-old Gregory J. Croom, 6025 Applecrest Court, Boardman, with a felony count of carrying a concealed weapon. Croom said that someone had tried to kill him, but another man pulled up saying that Croom shot at him, and authorities found in Croom’s vehicle a loaded 9 mm semiautomatic handgun, a report showed.
Theft: A $30 hat and money were stolen from a car in the 10 block of Boardman-Canfield Road.
Criminal damaging: A vehicle was damaged in the 7300 block of Southern Boulevard.
Theft: Two women took $17 worth of cleaning items as well as health and beauty products from Dollar General, 271 Boardman-Canfield Road.
Domestic violence: Police signed a charge against 39-year-old Ross E. Shamblin, 936 Moyer Ave., Boardman, after his wife alleged he had grabbed her neck during an argument, causing redness.
Theft: Two Youngstown girls, 14 and 17, were charged in the theft of merchandise from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Theft: A 16-year-old New Waterford boy faced a charge, accused of stealing a $22 MP3 player case from Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road.
Misuse of a credit card: A Moyer Avenue woman’s stolen bank card was used online without permission. The unauthorized charges came to $894.
Theft: A wallet was stolen in the 7000 block of West Boulevard.
Robbery: A man in the parking lot of a Market Street store told police two men grabbed him and stole a house key before fleeing on foot. The victim complained of neck pain.
May 29
Domestic violence: Police picked up 26-year-old Wali K. Saunders, 33 Fairlawn Ave., Youngstown, at the Trumbull County jail on a felony charge. Earlier, a township woman reported having been punched in the right eye and thrown to the ground during an argument.
Theft: Two Sony PlayStation 3 games were taken from a home in the 800 block of Mathews Road.
Identity theft: A Hunters Ridge Drive man found four unauthorized transactions totaling $65 to his bank account.
Burglary: To a home in the 700 block of Indianola Road via a rear window. Stolen were a laptop computer, $550, a firearm and prescription medication.
Domestic violence: Police on state Route 7 arrested 31-year-old Robert F. Brunswick, 1037 W. Washington St., New Castle, Pa., and charged him. Brunswick’s estranged wife alleged he had threatened to kill her and their children, and blow up her residence.
Burglary: Took place in the 400 block of Mathews Road, where a stereo receiver, a DVD player, an MP3 player and 20 DVDs were stolen.
May 30
Domestic violence: Michael J. Johnson, 45, of 25 Mill Creek Blvd., Boardman faced a charge after his wife alleged that while driving home, Johnson choked her during an argument. She had bruises to her neck.
Theft: A man stole a case of beer from a BP Unimart gas station, 1090 Boardman-Poland Road.
Assault: A woman suffered a bump to her head after reporting someone had pulled her hair and punched the accuser in the forehead during an argument at an Erskine Avenue home.
Arrest: A traffic stop on U.S. Route 224 resulted in the arrest of 28-year-old Troy T. Keslar, 7460 Ranier Trail, Boardman. He was wanted on a misdemeanor charge of possession of a dangerous drug.
Theft: Forty compact discs, a laptop computer and a global positioning system unit were removed from two vehicles in the 50 block of Charles Avenue.
Menacing: A worker at a Southern Park Mall kiosk reported receiving threats.
Theft: A 12-inch subwoofer and two other items were stolen from a car in the 800 block of Park Harbor Drive.
May 31
Fraud: A West Boulevard man discovered someone had gained access to his online information, then downloaded $1,434 worth of items charged to his account.
Menacing: A Southern Boulevard woman said her former boyfriend stopped in front of her residence and peered at her with a set of binoculars.
Theft: A bicycle and an electric scooter were stolen from a driveway in the 4100 block of Shelby Road.
Theft: An in-dash stereo and 10 CDs were removed from a car in the 80 block of Carter Circle.
Domestic violence: A 15-year-old township boy was charged and taken to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center in Youngstown after his father alleged that during an argument, the teen struck him in the head with a cup of ice cream. Harassment: An Afton Avenue woman reported getting a series of unwanted calls and text messages.
Domestic violence: Officers took custody of 24-year-old Kellie C. Britton, 1465 Townsend Ave., Liberty Township, after Britton’s boyfriend, of Boardman, said she had threatened to harm him.
June 1
Auto theft: A 2000 Pontiac Grand Am was stolen in the 20 block of Beechwood Drive.
