The sweet sound of singing filled the air in the Canfield High School auditorium as the seventh- and eight-grade students of the Canfield Village Middle School choirs performed their spring concert May 24.

The choirs were conducted by Stephanie Summers, with Jodine Pilmer on piano, Stephen Ley on drums and Dan Kalosky on bass.

The first performance of the evening was a solo by Alec Heldreth, accompanied by Cristian Labra on the guitar. Heldreth sang “The Truth” by Brett James and Ashley Monroe.

The seventh-grade choir performed three selections for the audience. They included: “Spanish Fiesta,” with percussion by Chris Adams, Kali Sizer and Grant Swift, “How Could Anyone” and “Party in the U.S.A.”

The seventh- and eighth-grade boys then joined together to sing “Lil’ Red Riding Hood,” with a spoken solo by Heldreth.

The eight-grade choir then took over the stage to sing its four selections.

They sang “Joshua Fit The Battle of Jericho,” “The Rhythm of Life,” with choreography by Kaylee Weems, Mikayla Vaclav and Mary Klacik; “Like an Eagle” and “Don’t Stop Believin’.”

The Don’t Stop Believin’ “Glee” ensemble included Paul Harris, Cody DeRamo, Colton Crissman, Jamie Wellham, Emma Seybert, Zabrina Gongaware, Taylor Gregory, Brittany Bettile, Sibel Sarac, Beloved Dean, Rachel Green, Paige Brucoli, Lindsay Stevens and Gina Cerimele.

The two choirs then joined forces to close the show with Michael Jackson’s, Lionel Richie’s and Roger Emerson’s “We Are The World.”
