Canfield tennis team shares AAC title

The Canfield boys tennis team finished 12-3 overall and 7-1 in the AAC Red tier to share the league title with Poland.

Canfield players Tony El-Hayek, Ryan Sankovic and Mark Dalvin were named to the all-league team and Steve Dalvin received honorable mention.

Senior co-captain Sankovic finished second in the sectional tournament and qualified for district play. His records for regular single play were 4-2 and 8-6. El-Hayek was a sophomore co-captain and finished 3-1 and 9-2. Sophomore Mark Dalvin went 4-0 and 11-1.

In doubles, senior Steve Dalvin and junior Joe Crum ended the season 1-3 and 5-8.

Senior Mark Pagan and sophomore Tom Yankush went 3-1 and 9-3.

Other players on the team included Joe Betras, Greg Cordy, Pawan Solanki, Mark Stanislaw, Alex Chiu, Dan Delahunty, Darryl Ferko, Ishmeet Grewal, Jared Hofsess, Will Keffler, Jayson Szabo, Mike Barkett, George Ellis and Ryan Yankush.
